Police Seeking Alleged Armed Robber

Police are seeking a man they believe robbed a teenage boy of his cell phone at gunpoint Tuesday evening.

At about 8:30 p.m., a teenage boy was walking on Villa Street when a beige colored Mercedes stopped beside him, said Pasadena Police Department Lt. Bruce George in a telephone interview. A man got out of the car near the intersection of Villa and Elizabeth streets and demanded the boy hand over his cell phone, George said.

The boy hesitated to give up his cell phone, and the suspect allegedly revealed that he had a handgun in his waistband, George said. The victim handed over the phone and the suspect ran back to his Mercedes and drove away, George said.

The alleged armed robber was described by the victim as a Hispanic male between 18 and 20 years old with a thin build and a tattoo on his neck.
