The iconic 66-year-old Jake’s Diner on Colorado Boulevard and Mills Alley in Old Pasadena has reportedly been temporarily closed by Pasadena Department of Public Health inspectors for unsanitary conditions, according the city’s website.

The report says the well-known diner at 38 West Colorado Boulevard was ordered closed on February 11 for a cockroach infestation.

“As of this morning,” said City of Pasadena Registered Environmental Health Specialist Rachel Janbek on Friday, “ Jakes’ permit has not been reinstated.”

Last October, Jake’s had earned a high score of 90, although the inspectors did log eight minor complaints.
