The City of Pasadena announced that Worchester Street will close Thursday evening for the annual Virgen De Guadalupe Celebration, an important religious and cultural gathering in the community.
The closure, stretching from Orange Grove Boulevard to Mountain Street, will be in effect from 3:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., according to City officials.
The closure coincides with the Feast Day of Our Lady of Guadalupe, which is traditionally observed on December 12.
Motorists and residents are advised to plan alternative routes to avoid the area during the closure period to prevent traffic congestion.
The Feast Day of Our Lady of Guadalupe (Día de la Virgen de Guadalupe) is a Catholic celebration honoring the Virgin Mary’s apparition to a man named Juan Diego in Mexico. The feast day commemorates a series of Marian apparitions that reportedly occurred in December 1531 on Tepeyac Hill, near Mexico City, during which the Virgin asked that a church be built on the Hill.
