The One Arroyo Foundation will host an exclusive tour of the Rose Bowl Stadium on July 11 at 5:30 p.m. as the next Friends of One Arroyo membership event.

The behind-the-scenes tour will include access to the original 1922 locker room, California High School Football Hall of Fame, press box and current locker rooms at the venue known as “America’s Stadium.”

The event serves as part of the nonprofit organization’s inaugural Friends of One Arroyo membership program, which focuses on preserving and restoring the Arroyo Seco in Pasadena. Friends of One Arroyo membership starts at $75, with options for custom donations.

The One Arroyo Foundation secured its 501(c)(3) designation in 2019 following a 2018 City Council report that identified opportunities for a nonprofit to supplement city funding for Arroyo restoration. The organization was formed after city officials visited New York’s Central Park Conservancy in 2016 to study its partnership model.

The foundation has completed several restoration projects, including trail improvements connecting the Lower and Upper trail systems with the Central Arroyo. Trail work began in September 2024 and is expected to finish by year’s end.

Funding has come from multiple sources, including a $1 million grant from the Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy and a $500,000 grant from the California State Parks Regional Trail program. The latter will fund completion of the Mayberry Parker Bridge connection in spring of next year.

Charter members receive exclusive benefits including invitations to members-only events, limited edition Arroyo notecards, charter member designation, Arroyo trail map and quarterly newsletters.

The foundation’s mission focuses on four key impact areas: restoring trails for accessible exploration, revitalizing natural habitats and protecting native flora and fauna, enhancing public spaces and creating areas for relaxation and connection, and providing educational and youth programs.
