Applicants attend one session and should register and submit an application in advance; anyone who has not applied will be directed to complete the form when they arrive in person. Registrants receive “an interview number to ensure anonymity during the process,” the Tournament of Roses said.
A brief orientation from former Rose Court members opens each session.
Then, each applicant then has “15 seconds in front of the Queen & Court Committee” to say why she wants to be on the court, and should plan on approximately two to three hours.
To be eligible, a student must identify as female, be at least 17 by Dec. 31, 2026 and no older than 21 before Jan. 5, 2027, carry a 2.0 grade point average in both the current and previous years, and live and attend school full time within the Pasadena Area Community College District or seven nearby ZIP codes. Students displaced by the Eaton Fire who no longer live inside those boundaries can still apply if the school they attend sits inside them.
Each of the seven receives a $7,500 educational scholarship and rides in the 138th Rose Parade on Jan. 1. The court will be announced Sept. 28, and the 108th Rose Queen crowned Oct. 27.
