Rose Parade-Route Restaurants Pause Outdoor Dining; Set to Resume Early Next Year

Published on Monday, December 18, 2023 | 5:39 am

As Pasadena gears up for the Rose Parade, local restaurants along the parade route have temporarily suspended outdoor dining amenities to accommodate the Parade crowds and parade participants.

The move, which affects all permittees of public roadway dining permits on Colorado Boulevard along the Parade route, is designed to ensure a smooth parade experience for both participants and spectators.

Affected restaurants were required to remove all outdoor dining amenities, including tables, tents, lights, decorations, and related floor platforms by December 14. However, businesses on cross streets will not be impacted by this suspension.

The annual Rose Parade, scheduled for January 1, necessitates the removal of all barriers for public roadway dining in compliance with the Pasadena Municipal Code, Section 12.13.056(f).

The City has reached out to affected businesses to ensure compliance and minimize disruptions.

“But don’t worry, outdoor dining will resume early next year!” the City said on social media. “Thank you to all our local eateries for being so accommodating and to those helping to get the work done.”
