The game, which marks the start of the Bruins’ 2025 campaign, will serve as a tribute to emergency personnel who protected the university and surrounding communities during recent wildfires and other crises.
“Our first game this year is going to be the first responder game,” Foster said during a press conference at the Jack R. Hammett Sports Complex in Costa Mesa. “The tickets will be free for all first responders who show any server ID or anything. You can check the links—they’re on both our social media accounts, Twitter, our X, and Instagram. Please come out.”
Foster said the tribute is meant to express gratitude for those who helped safeguard UCLA and the Rose Bowl during the Eaton Fire and other emergencies.
“This is our first time opportunity to really just share and let them know how we feel about them and how important it was for them to—basically—they saved us,” he said. “We just want to really show our appreciation for them.”
He added: “We’d love for every first responder to come out and support us. We want to support you.”
First responders can claim their free tickets by visiting UCLA Football’s official accounts on Instagram and X (formerly Twitter), where links and instructions are posted.
