This sermon was delivered by Rev. Anthony Scannell, Capuchin, Presider, Holy Family Church on Sunday, May 15, 2016. Father Tony Scannell, Capuchin, has served as Pastoral Telecommunications Specialist for the Archdiocese of Los Angeles from 1996-2003 and Executive Publisher of the Archdiocesan newspapers from 2004-2007. President of the Los Angeles-based Franciscan Communications until 1990, he has been President of both the national and international Catholic Association of Broadcasters and a member of the Vatican’s Pontifical Commission for Social Communications. He is still active in parish ministry, and offers “Soup and Cinema” during Advent and Lent in three L.A. parishes. Father Tony was one of the founding members of CIMA and still serves as its Chaplain. CIMA honored him with their very first Lifetime Achievement Award in 1993.
