[UPDATED: Time of event has been changed]
Sheriff Alex Villanueva will provide an update on the Los Angeles County state of emergency at 2:00 p.m. Monday.
Gov. Gavin Newsom on Saturday declared a state of emergency and called in the National Guard to help combat violence and mayhem in Los Angeles in the aftermath of George Floyd’s death at the hands of police officers in Minnesota.
L.A. County officials Sunday declared a 6 p.m. curfew in all of the county’s 88 cities, including Pasadena.
The declaration led to some confusion among Pasadena residents because city officials had previously declared an 8 p.m. curfew.
Typically, the county manages the unincorporated areas of Los Angeles County, such as Altadena, while incorporated cities, including Pasadena call their own shots.
Villanueva told KABC Channel 7 he expects the curfew to be in effect again Monday night.
