A woman was transported to a local hospital with smoke inhalation and a home in the 600 block of Penn Street was severely damaged by fire Wednesday night.
The 7:33 p.m. blaze brought a large fire and police department response to the blaze in a single-story, wood-frame house.
Arriving units located the victim outside and assessed her condition as moderate but requiring transport to the hospital.
Firefighters knocked down the blaze in just under 20 minutes.
The blaze did not spread to adjacent buildings, according to city spokesperson Lisa Derderian, who said the fire caused about $200,000 in damage.
An arson investigator was called to the scene. No cause of the fire has yet been announced.
