More than a thousand animal lovers are expected to gather at Brookside Park near the Rose Bowl on Sunday, April 6 for the annual Wiggle Waggle Walk & Run, one of Pasadena Humane’s largest fundraising events. The event, which features a dog-friendly walk, vendor marketplace, and costume contest, raises funds to support animal welfare programs across the community.

The morning kicks off at 8 a.m. with on-site registration, the opening of the Vendor Marketplace, and access to the Sit, Stay, and Play! Training Park. At 9 a.m., participants and their canine companions will embark on the Walk & Run, an event designed to highlight Pasadena Humane’s commitment to pet adoption, wildlife care, and veterinary services.

“The Wiggle Waggle Walk & Run is one of Pasadena Humane’s biggest events each year, with proceeds helping to save the lives of thousands of animals in our community with programs such as foster care, kitten nursery, animal ICU, wildlife and more,” Pasadena Humane said in its event announcement.

This year’s fundraiser takes on added significance in light of the recent fire in Altadena. Pasadena Humane has taken in hundreds more animals and pledged to care for them until their owners can safely reclaim them, underscoring the need for increased community support.

Adding to the festivities, KFI AM 640’s Wake Up Call radio team is participating in the event, encouraging listeners to join its team, the Wake Up Call Wigglers. Supporters can either take part in the walk or donate online, helping the team reach its goal of raising $10,000 for Pasadena Humane’s rescue and rehabilitation efforts.

For those attending in person, the event will also feature a special giveaway from KFI AM 640, with exclusive ‘Swag Bags’ available to team members and the first 250 visitors at the station’s booth near the stage. Additionally, premium pet food brand Dr. Marty Pets is sponsoring a raffle for gift baskets filled with dog food and treats. These raffle items are exclusive to those who visit the KFI booth on April 6, with entries available for a $5 donation or more to the Wake Up Call Wigglers team.

At 10 a.m., the highly anticipated dog costume contest registration closes, with the competition beginning at 10:30 a.m. Participants will parade their creatively dressed pets before a panel of judges for a chance to win prizes.

Attendees can also enjoy tasty food truck treats while browsing the Vendor Marketplace.

The event officially concludes at 11:00 a.m., as vendors pack up and attendees depart, many with newly adopted pets or fresh donations to support Pasadena Humane’s mission.

The Wiggle Waggle Walk & Run continues to be a cornerstone of Pasadena’s animal advocacy efforts, providing not only a fundraising platform but also an opportunity for the community to come together in support of its four-legged residents.
