A 24-year-old Pasadena woman was injured Monday evening after being pushed to the ground during a strong-arm robbery in the 400 block of South Lake Avenue, according to Pasadena Police Lieutenant Anthony Russo.

The incident occurred at approximately 8:57 p.m. when the victim, an employee of the business, attempted to stop a man from leaving without paying for food.

Russo said the suspect shoved her to the ground and stepped on her leg before fleeing eastbound on Lake Avenue and getting into a white four-door sedan. The vehicle was last seen driving north on Lake Avenue.

The victim reported pain and sustained contusions to her right shoulder and leg. Pasadena Fire Department personnel treated her at the scene, Russo said. She was not transported to a hospital.

The suspect was described as an African American man, approximately 19 to 20 years old, standing about 6 feet 3 inches tall with a thin build weighing between 150 and 160 pounds. Russo said the suspect was wearing a dark blue hoodie with the hood pulled over his head, light blue shorts, white socks, and black Crocs with a bright pink strap.

Officers canvassed the area but were unable to locate the suspect. Russo said.
