The Rose Bowl Institute will host a free networking luncheon for high school and college students to connect with women leaders from various fields on April 20th. The event, hosted by former soccer star Julie Foudy, aims to showcase female leadership, confidence, and character.
The luncheon is part of the Institute’s ongoing programming to promote leadership, ethics, and character-based skills among young men and women. The Institute also organizes an annual Women’s Empowerment Symposium, a three-day event that will resume in the fall.
“It’s my privilege to continue supporting the Rose Bowl Institute and their ongoing programming,” says Foudy. “Their leadership in this space provides unique value and endless opportunities for our young men and women. This year’s luncheon will continue to instill leadership, ethics, confidence, and character-based skills in the mindsets of all the youth who attend.”
The networking luncheon welcomes young men and women in high school and college with the opportunity to connect with female leaders from various industries such as aviation, medicine, entertainment, and sports. Leaders will be stationed at tables where attendees can converse with them in a casual setting and learn more about their respective career journeys.
As a foundational pillar of the Institute’s platform, the annual Women’s Empowerment Symposium is a three-day event specially designed for high school juniors, seniors, and college students to learn from female business leaders, athletes, and local and national education leaders under the inspirational brand of the Rose Bowl Stadium. Due to its popularity, the Symposium will continue to resume its three-day program in the fall, in addition to continuing with its annual networking luncheon on the field in April.
“Breaking down stereotypes and pushing the barriers that women may unconsciously create for themselves is our main goal at the Annual Women’s Empowerment Networking Luncheon,” says Lauren Hall, Programs Director at the Rose Bowl Institute. “It is the hope that, one day, this may help young students, both men and women, build self-confidence and help provide them with the tools needed to act in the next steps of their education or careers. This two-part program over the course of a year is meant to share knowledge and skills through networking as well as inspire, empower and educate our next generation.”
Since its launch in August 2020, the Rose Bowl Institute has continued to educate and inspire both at-risk youth and underserved communities in Southern California and around the nation. The Institute continues teaching independent skills based on its values – ethics, teamwork, sportsmanship, equality and so much more – to ensure our viewers are exposed to free donor-funded programming that can benefit their growth as contributing members of society.
