Young & Healthy Brings Back Mobile Dental Clinic to Pasadena

Young & Healthy has announced the return of its Mobile Dental Clinic to the Pasadena area, offering free dental care for children aged 5 to 18 from April 17th through 25th at Blair High School, located at 1201 S. Marengo Ave. The clinic aims to provide essential dental services to children who lack dental insurance or access to pediatric dentists, particularly those affected by the recent Eaton Fire.

“For over 30 years, Mobile Dental Clinic has been a centerpiece of our comprehensive efforts to give local children access to resources to help them grow up healthy and flourish,” says Ellen Kramer, Young & Healthy Executive Director. “In the aftermath of the Eaton Fire, access to healthcare is more critical than ever. This clinic will serve as a vital resource for families who have been displaced, ensuring they receive the dental care they need during this challenging time. With so much uncertainty, we want to provide peace of mind—this is one worry we can take off their plate.”

The weeklong clinic is presented in partnership with the Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry of USC. Services include diagnostic X-rays, preventive treatments such as fluoride applications, cleanings, and sealants. Restorative procedures like fillings and pulpotomies will also be available, along with surgical services including root planing, extractions, and root removals.

Advanced registration is required as space is limited, and walk-in appointments will not be available. Families interested in participating should contact Young & Healthy at 626-795-5166, Monday through Friday, between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. to determine eligibility and schedule appointments.

All services at the Mobile Dental Clinic are provided at no cost to families. The program is made possible through local funding efforts, including contributions from private donors, area foundations, and other generous supporters.

Young & Healthy is a nonprofit dedicated to ensuring low-income children in the greater Pasadena area have access to quality healthcare. The organization works with over 350 volunteer physicians, dentists, mental health professionals, and specialists to provide essential care at no cost.

The nonprofit’s certified insurance enrollers help families obtain the best possible health coverage. Young & Healthy also supports families through tax preparation assistance and trauma-informed care training for community partners, making sure local children have the resources they need to flourish.
