Authorities arrested 11 people and recovered three firearms while searching illegal marijuana dispensaries in Altadena, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department announced Monday.
The searches took place during the last two weeks of January at two dispensaries within the Altadena township area, according to the sheriff’s Altadena station.
A post by LASD Deputy Dan Paige said two different search warrant operations were conducted by the LASD’s Narcotics Bureau, assisted by Altadena Station Detective Bureau members. The searches were conducted at two locations along Fair Oaks Drive.
The 11 people, several of whom were believed to be employees of the illegal marijuana dispensaries, were arrested for a variety of crimes, deputies reported.
Authorities also recovered a “large sum of money,” “eatable” and “vapeable” marijuana products, and three firearms, one of which was confirmed stolen, deputies said.
The LASD said anyone who sees activity that appears to be suspicious or criminal in nature should contact the Altadena Sheriff’s Station at (626) 798-1131, or remain anonymous and call “Crime Stoppers” at (800) 222-TIPS.
