The Rose Bowl Stadium on Wednesday kicked off the start of the Rose Bowl Centennial Logo Design Challenge, in preparation for the 100th birthday celebration. The historic venue will turn 100-years-old in 2022 and is now asking fans and designers alike to create and/or inspire the official logo for the upcoming Centennial Celebration.
The Rose Bowl Stadium is one of the most famous venues in entertainment history. Opened in October 1922, the stadium is recognized as a National Historic Landmark and a California Historic Civil Engineering Landmark. The Rose Bowl is the 15th largest stadium in the world and 11th largest stadium in the United States.
Best known for being a college football venue, hosting the annual Rose Bowl Game since 1922 and since 1982, it has served as the home of UCLA Bruins Football. In its history, America’s Stadium has hosted five Super Bowl games, 1994 FIFA World Cup Final, 1999 Women’s World Cup Final and the 1984 Olympic Gold Medal Match. In addition, the Rose Bowl Stadium has hosted some of the most iconic music legends such as The Rolling Stones, Taylor Swift, Metallica, Jay-Z and Beyoncé, BTS, U2, Kenny Chesney and Jason Aldean, Coldplay and so many more!
There is no cost to submit a logo concept — the best design will win $1,000 cash and season tickets to the 2020 UCLA Football home season games. The winning submission will either be used entirely as the official logo or be used by stadium designers to inspire the final logo. All submissions must be entered by March 2nd and the winner will be selected March 9th.
