
[Tournament of Roses]
Tuesday marks the final opportunity for people to to admire the artistry and workmanship of this year’s Rose Parade floats up close at the post-parade showcase event known as Floatfest.
The event allows visitors to walk along Sierra Madre and Washington Boulevards to admire the floral creations featured in Monday’s parade. Tournament of Roses volunteers are on hand to provide details on float design and construction.
Weather should be sunny and dry, according to the National Weather Service.
Comfortable walking shoes are recommended for the more than 2-mile self-guided walking tour. The route has a moderate incline. Pets and bikes are prohibited.
Event organizers say close to 150,000 people are expected on Tuesday.
Tuesday entries from 7:00 to 9:00 a.m. are reserved for senior citizens and visitors with disabilities. The exhibit is open to the general public from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., with last ticket sales at 3:30 p.m. and final entry at 4 p.m.
Parking near Floatfest is extremely limited. A free shuttle will run from two locations in Pasadena to accommodate the large crowds. The shuttle service includes a priority Floatfest entry line.
All bags brought to the event will be searched at the gates for security purposes. Clear bags no larger than 12 by 6 by 12 inches are highly encouraged to speed entry.
Skateboards, roller skates, bicycles, tricycles, Segways and wagons are not permitted. Using a stroller would also be difficult due to the terrain.
No animals, except service animals, will be permitted within the venue.
