The City of Pasadena and the Pasadena Latino Heritage Committee are now accepting nominations for the Grand Marshal and the Community Grand Marshal of the 2024 Pasadena Latino Heritage Parade and Festival.
The theme for this year’s event, “Somos Pasadena: Seguimos Floreciendo” (We are Pasadena: We Continue to Flourish), aims to showcase the achievements and aspirations of Pasadena’s Latino community.
According to a press release from Pasadena Public Information Officer Lisa Derderian, nominees for Grand Marshal should have displayed outstanding service, support, and commitment to the County, state, and/or country and the betterment of the Latino Community through direct services and/or notable personal achievements.
The selected individual must be willing and able to fulfill the duties of the role, which include leading the parade and attending the fundraising kickoff reception, Parade VIP Breakfast, and on-stage award ceremony on the day of the celebration. Current City of Pasadena employees and elected officials are not eligible for nomination.
The Community Grand Marshal, a separate role, should be a Pasadena resident who has demonstrated exceptional service and dedication to the local Latino community. Like the Grand Marshal, the Community Grand Marshal will be expected to lead the parade and attend the fundraising kickoff reception, Parade VIP Breakfast, and the associated events. City employees and elected officials are also excluded from consideration for this position.
Nominations for both roles must be submitted online by Monday, June 17, 2024. To submit a nomination, click here. The final selection will be made by the Pasadena Latino Heritage Parade and Festival Committee.
