Pasadena residents will face another frosty night Friday before a warming trend lifts temperatures well above normal by Sunday, according to the National Weather Service.
Forecasters said Friday’s high will reach near 57 degrees under mostly sunny skies, with overnight lows dipping to about 38. The cold air mass follows a departing trough that brought rain and mountain snow to Southern California earlier this week.
Saturday will start chilly but warm to near 67 degrees under sunny skies. By Sunday, highs are expected to climb to about 73, with calm winds and clear conditions.
The warming trend will continue into early next week, with highs reaching the upper 70s. Monday could hit 78, while Tuesday through Thursday will remain in the mid to upper 70s.
Rain chances have diminished as storm systems track farther north. The Weather Service said Pasadena is expected to remain dry through the coming week.
Winds will stay light, shifting from northerly to easterly before calming Sunday. No significant gusts are forecast.
Residents are advised to protect sensitive plants and provide shelter for outdoor pets during overnight lows.
The extended forecast shows continued warmth into next week, with highs near 79 by Thursday. Dry conditions are expected to prevail.
