Pasadena entrepreneur and event producer Victoria Williams was recently honored by NBC4 Los Angeles during Women’s History Month for her work expanding educational access and opportunity across Southern California.

Williams is the founder of the Black Education Expo (BEE), a regional initiative connecting K–12 students, families and educators to educational resources, workforce pathways and culturally relevant programming. Through the Expo, schools, community organizations and industry partners come together to support students and families while helping expand access to educational opportunities.

In celebration of Black History Month, the most recent Black Education Expo welcomed hundreds of families to West Los Angeles College for a day of connection, resources and celebration. Powered by the Black Freedom Fund, the outdoor event featured more than 40 exhibitors representing colleges, STEM programs, workforce development organizations and community partners.

In honor of Black Children’s Book Week, more than 600 free books were distributed to attendees of all ages to help encourage literacy and build home libraries. Members of the Zawadi Girl Scout Troop also showcased their entrepreneurial skills, selling out of their Girl Scout cookies during the event.

As momentum continues to grow, the Black Education Expo will return to Pasadena on October 3, 2026 at the Pasadena Convention Center, where students, families and community partners will again gather for a day of educational resources, literacy initiatives and workforce opportunities. All Are Welcome.
