Pasadena police officers are searching for four men suspects who broke into at least two apartments in the 1300 block of North Los Robles Avenue in Pasadena on Christmas Day, and carted away an undetermined amount of cash, jewelry and other items.
Lt. Pete Hettema, Watch Commander, said the residential burglary was reported at about 9 a.m. on Sunday.
At 8:40 a.m., the victim was away from his home and a neighbor saw four suspects removing property from the victims home and placing them in a vehicle, a light-colored mid-sized sedan, parked in the driveway, Hettema said. The neighbor phoned police but the suspects were gone when officers arrived. During investigation, the officers discovered a second apartment in the complex had also been burglarized.
Hettema said the suspects carried what looked like a gun safe from the first apartment, according to the neighbors description. From the second apartment, the owner reported some cash and jewelry missing but did not give an estimate of the value.
Hettema said witnesses described the four suspects as black or Hispanic and all were in the 20s.
We do have situations where we know people are watching for people leaving, but oftentimes it look like they knock on a front door often, see if anybody answers, and if none, they go around the back and break windows, Hettema said.
Anyone with information about the twin burglaries or the suspects is advised to call the Pasadena Police Department, at (626) 744-4501.
