Caltech’s Center for Technology and Management has partnered with Fullstack Academy in New York to offer a 26-week “Data Analytics Boot Camp” for those interested in sharpening their digital skills amid the changing labor market, the institutions have announced.
The application period for the course opened Thursday, Fullstack Academy said in a written statement. The enrollment window closes on Aug. 17.
“The Los Angeles area alone lists over 3,200 current entry-level data analytics positions at leading businesses like Anthem Blue Cross, IBM, Sempra and Disney,” according to the statement, “Demand for qualified tech professionals in Southern California is accompanied by highly compensated entry-level data analyst salaries averaging $64,900.”
Fullstack Academy President Mogan Subramaniam said he was proud to partner with Caltech for the program.
“Caltech at CTME is home to some of the world’s brightest educators and is also surrounded by pioneering data visualization experts across Los Angeles and Southern California,” he said.
“Our curriculum, combined with Caltech’s expansive network and the market’s need for data analytics professionals, makes the bootcamp’s potential limitless,” Subramaniam added. “The demand for data analytics talent will continue to grow as more companies see an advanced need to process large amounts of information and transition to data-driven practices that improve efficiency, profitability and safety.”
The course will be sought by “industry-leading professionals” and will cover subjects including SQL, Python and data visualization skills, according to Fullstack. Student
“Beginning in a live-online format, the bootcamp will train professionals of any tech level to qualify for entry-level data analytics positions in just 26 weeks,” the statement said.
Caltech CTME Program Director Rick Hefner said the course is designed to help students transition into new careers.
“Through our existing collaboration with Fullstack Academy, we have developed top qualified candidates to enter the tech workforce. We look forward to continuing to contribute to the talent pool for the greater Los Angeles area,” he said.
Those who successfully complete the program will earn certificates in data analytics from Caltech. Caltech enrollment is not required, nor is prior expertise.
Classes will be held three times a week online between August and February, representatives said.
The cost of tuition is $13,890, according to Caltech. Financing is available, as well as an early enrollment discount and scholarships for Caltech alumni, military members and veterans.
