The city is set to hold a public meeting on the proposed rate increase to the Pasadena Water and Power’s (PWP) electricity rates for 2014.
Pasadena Mayor Bill Bogaard and PWP staff will host the meeting in the Forum at All Saints Church on Thursday, May 22, from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m.
The meeting will also cover how electric rates are determined and the programs and services that will enable residents to save money and energy.
PWP said the proposed rate changes are “necessary to recover the costs of providing the Pasadena community with safe, reliable and sustainable power.”
Water and Power General Manager Phyllis Currie said PWP will bring a “bill estimator” that will help the participants assess the impacts of the proposed rate changes.
The first 50 PWP customers to arrive at the meeting will receive a free energy-saving LED light bulb. Customers who will attend are asked to bring their latest bills.
All Saints Church is located at 132 N. Euclid Ave. For more information on the town hall meeting, visit http://www.pwpweb.com/townhall or call (626) 744-6970.
