The new outdoor dining facilities will debut in Old Pasadena at the Dine Out Pasadena Streetfest on Sunday, June 22 from 1-7 p.m.

A federal grant secured by Congressmember Judy Chu is bringing permanent changes to Old Pasadena as eight restaurants prepare to unveil new on-street dining platforms. The improvements mark the culmination of the Dine Out Pasadena pilot grant program, supporting local businesses recovering from the Eaton Fire.

“Pasadena’s restaurants are essential contributors to the local economy,” said Economic Development Director, David Klug. “The Streetfest will bring diners to the heart of the city to support restaurants that make Pasadena unique.”

The new dining platforms will debut at the Dine Out Pasadena Streetfest on Sunday, June 22 from 1-7 p.m.

The event will transform Union Street between Raymond Avenue and Fair Oaks Avenue (61 N. Raymond Avenue) into a celebration where guests can eat, drink, play, and dance. Three additional restaurants will showcase refurbishments to existing outdoor setups.

The City’s Economic Development Division will host the event with lead sponsor Dine Brands Global, plus support from Visit Pasadena, Old Pasadena Management District and Sunstone Investment Group.

“Pasadena is more than just the home of our Applebee’s, IHOP and Fuzzy’s Taco Shop headquarters — it’s a community that’s part of our story,” said John Peyton, CEO of Dine Brands Global. “This event is all about coming together with our neighbors, supporting fellow restaurateurs, and celebrating the spirit of dining out.”

Participating restaurants include Bodegón 69, Bone Kettle, Cafe Santorini, Chado Tea Room, Osawa Sushi, Perle, Pez Coastal Kitchen, Soh Grill House, The Blind Donkey, The Kitchen, and Union. Food trucks, a beer garden featuring Cerveceria del Pueblo and Wild Parrot Brewing Company (with special guest Elroy the Parrot), live music, community booths, games, and photo opportunities round out the festivities.
