A shooting occurred on N. Los Robles Avenue in Pasadena on Tuesday night, when an unknown gunman fired up to 21 rounds at homes, according to police.

Officers were alerted to the scene by a ShotSpotter alert at 7:17 p.m. and arrived at the area of 2000 North Los Robles Avenue about two minutes later.

ShotSpotter is a gunfire detection system that uses acoustic sensors that capture the precise time, location, and audio of gunshots and alerts police within seconds.

Officers found ample evidence of a shooting.

Social media photographs show police forensics experts examining the scene.

According to police, as many as three houses were struck by the gunfire, but no injuries were reported.

Police also checked local hospitals for gunshot victims and there were none, officials said.

Police Chief Gene Harris was reportedly speaking at a District 5 community meeting when the shooting occurred and informed constituents of the incident.

The suspect, described only as a Black man, is believed to have fled in a dark-colored sedan. The investigation is ongoing.
