Pasadena Federal Credit Union CEO and President Gary Skraba presented a $700 check to Interim Police Chief Cheryl Moody at police headquarters Wednesday, to support the department’s Police Activities League (PAL).
Skarbas and Moody were joined by PFCU employees and officers involved in PAL, as well as Police Commander Jason Clawson.
Moody thanked Skraba for the money and invited him to join the PAL officers and youth members “on the basketball court” soon. Skaraba jokingly warned that he had “no shot.”
Pasadena Federal Credit Union is active in the community and also helps out at Union Station Homeless Services, supporting local libraries, as well as raising funds for animals in the Pasadena Humane Society’s annual Wiggle Waggle Walk.
Pasadena FCU was founded in 1935 by a small group of City of Pasadena employees who wanted a safe, fair place to save and borrow money. Its first “office” was a window in the City Treasurer’s office. The credit union has remained committed to being the locally-focused financial institution that serves the residents of Pasadena and local communities with good rates and personalized service.
The Pasadena Police Activities League works directly with at-risk youth in Pasadena schools, and providing them with athletic and educational opportunities.
The League supports crime prevention by promoting positive bonds between police officers and the young people in Pasadena.
