Pasadena Police and Fire Departments Join City Manager’s Office To Promote Pink Patch Project 

The Pasadena Police Department, Fire Department, and City Manager’s Office are joining forces for a “friendly” fitness competition to launch the City’s Pink Patch Project and raise awareness for breast cancer in October, Breast Cancer Month.

Breast Cancer Awareness month is a yearly campaign spanning October that pulls community focus onto the importance of the prevention, diagnosis, treatment and cure of breast cancer.

The announced fitness competition, scheduled on Monday, Oct. 2, aims to inspire those living with breast cancer and show support for individuals fighting the disease. 

Through this initiative, the City of Pasadena hopes to bring greater attention to the importance of health and fitness before, during, and after cancer treatment. 

Funds raised during this event will be donated to City of Hope, a renowned area cancer research and treatment center. 

The city encourages members of the community to wear pink throughout the month of October in solidarity with the campaign. 

As part of the Pink Patch Project, Pasadena’s police officers now proudly don uniform shirts featuring a Pink Patch to raise awareness for breast cancer, cancer research, and prevention. 

The fitness challenge will take place at FitSport Kinetics located at 801 So. Raymond Ave. in Pasadena.
