The Tournament of Roses will announce the 2024 Royal Court at 9 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 2 at the Tournament House, 391 South Orange Grove Blvd.
Seven members will be chosen from among the 28 finalists.
Nearly 200 people are expected to attend the event which will include a live band.
Applicants from 36 Pasadena area schools participated in the month-long selection process.
Applicants took part in a series of interview sessions at Tournament House in early September.
Participants are selected based on a combination of qualities, including public speaking ability, youth leadership, academic achievement, and community and school involvement.
Members of the Royal Court will receive a $7,500 academic scholarship.
The Royal Court serves as ambassadors of the Tournament of Roses, representing the organization at community events leading up to January 1. On New Year’s Day, the Court will ride a float in the 135th Rose Parade and attend the CFP Semifinal at the 110th Rose Bowl Game.
The Court participates in personal development programs designed to enhance their public speaking and presentation abilities, boost self-confidence and refine their etiquette skills.
Royal Court members are provided with opportunities to actively participate in the community, make positive contributions and discover ways to connect with local leaders.
