As part of its participation in the 136th Rose Parade, Pasadena Humane will employ what it describes as top canine football analysts to predict the 2025 Rose Bowl Game between the Oregon Ducks and the Ohio State Buckeyes.
Friday’s prediction event at the shelter’s Raymond Avenue facility will use the dogs’ keen sense of smell and taste to pick the winner of next week’s College Football Playoff quarterfinal matchup.
The prediction methodology involves placing food bowls labeled for each university team — Oregon Ducks and Ohio State Buckeyes.
The winner will be determined by which team’s bowl attracts the greatest number of dogs, with each bowl containing a game-predicting entree provided by Hill’s Pet Nutrition.
The event will occur from 10 to 11 a.m. at Pasadena Humane’s facility at 361 S. Raymond Ave. in Pasadena.
The nonprofit will also host a float in next week’s Rose Parade.
“Pasadena Humane’s Rose Parade float, ‘Welcome Home,’ sponsored by Hill’s Pet Nutrition, celebrates the joy and companionship pets bring to our lives while highlighting the life-saving power of adoption,” the organization said.
