As students head back to school this year, Pasadena Public Library wants to make sure that they have the most important school supply of all – a library card. This key resource provides students with free access to books, e-books, databases, encyclopedias, test preparation materials, homework help, Wi-Fi, internet access, and much more.
Studies show that children who are read to and use the library perform better in school and are more likely to continue to use the library as a source of lifetime learning.
“Today’s libraries provide students with the tools they need to succeed,†says Jan Sanders, Library Director. “Libraries provide young readers with exciting and engaging programs that make learning fun. Now more than ever, a library card is most important school supply of all.â€
Your first library card is free. During the month of September lost or damaged library cards may be replaced free of charge at any Pasadena Public library site.
For information on how to sign up for a library card, visit any one of Pasadena’s ten library sites in person or go to http://cityofpasadena.net/library/library_cards_my_account/library_cards.
