United Teachers of Pasadena Announce Endorsements in PUSD School Board Election Races

The Pasadena, Altadena, Sierra Madre local teachers of the United Teachers of Pasadena have decided to endorse the following Pasadena Unified School District candidates for school board trustees, the Union said in a weekend announcement.

• For Trustee Area 1: Kimberly Kenne
• For Trustee Area 3: Patrick Amsbry
• For Trustee Area 5: Patrice McKenzie
• For Trustee Area 7: Yarma Velázquez

“We have chosen these candidates based on their commitment, record of work,
reputation in the community, and in ensuring that students are provided all they need to master the fundamental skills of reading, math, science, and the many other subjects that develop the whole child in the programs our schools offer,” said UTP President Jonathan Gardner. “These candidates will make certain our students are financially literate and ready for college and careers.”

Gardner said that UTP believes these candidates in particular will help renew and enhance Pasadena Unified’s commitment to preparing all students for future job opportunities and professional endeavors.

The election will be held November 8, 2022.
