Authorities asked the public to avoid the area after a water main burst along Altadena Drive in Pasadena on Monday, flooding the roadway.
Police first reported the mishap shortly before 4:50 p.m. along Altadena Drive, between Cooley Place and Paloma Street.
Video from the scene showed a BMW sedan’s tire stuck in a large crack that had opened in the roadway.
No injuries were reported, city officials said.
A Pasadena Water & Power crew was summoned to the scene.
The cause of the break was unclear.
