Assembly District 41 Dr. Phlunté Riddle has garnered a significant endorsement from the California Women’s List (CWL), a Political Action Committee that endorses, fundraises for, and elects women to public office in the state.
“California Women’s List is thrilled to endorse Dr. Phlunté Riddle for AD 41,” Marissa Roy, President of California Women’s List, said in a statement. “She has been a trailblazer throughout her career, forging a path for women in public safety. Her courage in speaking truth to power will allow her to fight for a more equitable and just future for the Foothill and High Desert communities in the state legislature.”
CWL’s backing underscores Riddle’s role as a torchbearer for women in leadership roles, her campaign said. Dr. Riddle was the first African American female to become sergeant, lieutenant, and then Adjutant to the Chief of Police in the history of the Pasadena Police Department. She was later appointed to the Board of Juvenile Discharge Hearings Commission and was Assemblymember Chris Holden’s District Director, where she actively contributed to advancing educational initiatives and advocating for critical community needs.
Dr. Riddle said she is thrilled to have been endorsed by the organization California Women’s List.
“Over the course of my public service career, I have worked hard to ensure that women succeeded me in the roles that I served,” she said. “That is why their support of my campaign means the world to me. They understand that all issues are women’s issues. With their endorsement, I am confident that we will not only win, but make meaningful progress in the State Assembly on education, public safety, housing, and climate.”
Dr. Riddle added the endorsement gIves her the confidence to win in the race and to “make meaningful progress in the State Assembly on education, public safety, housing, and climate.”
The endorsement by California Women’s List adds to Riddle’s growing list of influential supporters, including a range of political figures, labor unions, community leaders, and educational advocates.
Dr. Riddle served the Pasadena Police Department for nearly three decades. She received her doctorate degree specializing in psychology from Phillips Graduate Institute, and holds a Master’s in Organizational Leadership from Woodbury University as well as a BS in Public Administration from the University of La Verne.
Riddle also is a graduate of California Command College and the FBI National Academy in Quantico, Virginia.
Her campaign says Riddle’s vision encompasses a focus on education, public safety, housing, and environmental sustainability, rooted in her extensive experience and commitment to serving the diverse communities within the district.
