Caltrans will be closing the westbound State Route (SR) 134 off-ramp to San Rafael Ave. (Exit 12) and the eastbound SR 134 off-ramp to Orange Grove Blvd. (Exit 13A) throughout the Nov. 3 weekend in order to accommodate bridge barrier work as part of a project to enhance the bridge’s safety to meet state standards.
The project involves constructing concrete barriers; these planned closures will allow crews to work safely, a Caltrans advisory said.
The closures will begin at 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 3, and will end before 6 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 6. Motorists are advised to use the off-ramps before or after their planned exits.
The advisory said residents and businesses located near the bridge may experience noise, vibrations, and dust associated with construction activities.
Caltrans reminds motorists to “Be Work Zone Alert” and to “Slow for the Cone Zone.”
Construction schedules – as well as road closure schedules – may change depending on weather conditions or other unforeseen circumstances, Caltrans said. It would be best to keep abreast of the latest road conditions and closures by visiting the Caltrans Quickmap, at https://quickmap.dot.ca.gov/.
