Fire Destroys Unit at Pasadena Motel Tuesday Morning

Fire destroyed a unit in a single-story motel building at the Ace Motel, 2870 E. Colorado Blvd., early Tuesday morning, according to authorities. There were no injuries.

Firefighters arriving shortly after the blaze was reported at 1:15 a.m. encountered heavy fire coming from the windows and door of a single unit on the east side of the complex, according to Fire Dept. spokesperson Lisa Derderian.

Quick action held the major damage to a single unit, which was destroyed,  Derderian said. An adjacent storage room sustained minor damage. 

An arson investigator was at the scene early Tuesday.
