The Fire Family Foundation, a Pasadena nonprofit that provides support and financial assistance to firefighters and their families in times of need, is hosting its 11th Annual Fire Boot Classic charity event on Oct. 5, Saturday, at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library & Museum in Simi Valley. The event, which includes a casino night and poker tournament, aims to raise funds for the Foundation’s programs.
Held at the Air Force One Pavilion, the Fire Boot Classic offers attendees a reception, gourmet dinner, and entertainment, along with a tour of the historic Air Force One that served seven U.S. presidents. All proceeds from the event will directly support its mission, the Foundation said in a statement.
“We rely on firefighters to protect us,” the statement continued. “They are men and women like you and me, who endure some of the most unimaginable situations which affect them physically and emotionally.”
The foundation, established in 2008 following the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks, provides financial assistance grants, scholarships, disaster relief, and fire charity funding to the firefighting community. It operates as the charitable arm of Firefighters First Credit Union, which covers the foundation’s overhead costs.
Event organizers are offering multiple ways for individuals and organizations to contribute, including attending the event, sponsoring, donating auction items, or making direct financial contributions.
Tickets and sponsorships can be purchased through the event’s website at http://www.firebootclassic.org.
The Fire Family Foundation is registered as a 501(c)(3) national nonprofit organization, making all donations tax-deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law. The foundation’s tax identification number is 36-4613248.
