John Harabedian racked up another endorsement on Monday.
This time the Pasadena resident running for state senate announced he has secured the endorsement of state senator Josh Newman.
Harabedian is running in the open-seat race for Senate District 25.
“I’m glad to be supporting John Harabedian in his campaign for state senate,” Newman said. “The California state legislature can always use another good, smart, committed public servant who is going to do the job for the right reasons and in the right way. John is going to make a great state senator, and I’m proud to join with leaders throughout Southern California in supporting him.”
Newman is serving his second term in the California State Senate. His district includes portions of the San Gabriel Valley, and he chairs the Senate Committee on Education.
Harabedian is a California State Commission president, attorney, father, and former City Councilmember and Mayor.
He was born and raised in Sierra Madre, and was twice elected to the Sierra Madre City Council. He also twice served as Mayor.
John was appointed by Governor Jerry Brown and re-appointed by Governor Gavin Newsom to serve on the California Department of Consumer Affairs Acupuncture Board.
Professionally, John has worked as a prosecutor at the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office, and as an attorney at Latham & Watkins, Stanford’s Immigrants’ Rights Clinic, and the Equality Pro Bono Project.
