Unity of Pasadena is hosting a special benefit concert featuring the Camino Real Musical Group on Friday, April 25, from 6:30 to 9 p.m. The event aims to replenish funds used to replace four aging HVAC units at the Unity Church that all failed within months of each other.
The 1980s-era heating and cooling systems all reached the end of their lifespan simultaneously, creating an unexpected financial burden for the church, according to the Church.
“This promises to be a spectacular night of foot-stomping fun,” said a representative from Unity of Pasadena.
Attendees can look forward to a diverse musical experience as Camino Real performs American classics, country hits, Norteño rhythms, and sultry Bolero tunes. The musical entertainment begins at 7 p.m., giving early arrivals time to participate in the silent auction that starts at 6:30 p.m.
The silent auction offers “all kinds of wonderful and perhaps unusual items,” according to event organizers. Bidding opens at 6:56 p.m., giving participants the opportunity to secure unique treasures while supporting a good cause.
The benefit concert will be held at Unity of Pasadena, located at 3053 East Del Mar Blvd. in Pasadena. Tickets are available for $20, with all proceeds going to the church’s HVAC Fire & Ice Fund.
On its website, Unity of Pasadena, once known as Unity Society of Pasadena, is described as a positive, practical, progressive approach to Christianity based on the teachings of Jesus and the power of prayer.
“Unity honors the universal truths in all religions and respects each individual’s right to choose a spiritual path,” the description said.
