Chief Gene Harris and members of the Pasadena Police Command Staff attended the October 23 graduation ceremony, recognizing Riddle’s achievement and his growing role within the department. The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s Law Enforcement Leadership Development Continuum emphasizes planning, organizing, directing, inspiring, and developing others—core competencies for principled leadership in public service.
Structured for both sworn and professional staff, the curriculum includes group discussions, presentations, and recommended readings focused on law enforcement leadership themes. The program is designed to enhance both professional and personal growth, and to embed values-based, principled leadership throughout the organization. It encourages a culture of leadership at every level and complements other LASD development efforts, such as the Deputy Leadership Institute and various supervisory schools.
Riddle, a five-year department veteran and Pasadena native, is known for his professionalism, compassion, and willingness to support others. In addition to his service as a Peer Support Member, Volunteer Coordinator, and youth soccer coach, he is currently working to expand the department’s Chaplain Program to enhance support for both staff and the broader community.
