The City of Pasadena’s Community Police Oversight Commission will host a special Meet and Greet with Independent Police Auditor Teresa Magula on Tuesday, May 6. The event will be conducted entirely in Spanish, providing an opportunity for Pasadena’s Spanish-speaking residents to discuss police accountability and the future of policing in their community.

The Meet and Greet will take place from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Villa Parke Community Center, located at 363 East Villa Street.
Magula, a native Spanish speaker, will engage directly with attendees in an open dialogue format focused on issues that matter most to the community.
Magula brings significant experience to her role as Independent Police Auditor. She currently serves as a Managing Owner at OIR Group and is a former Special Investigator with the Los Angeles Police Department’s Office of Inspector General. Her expertise includes evaluating police use of force incidents, reviewing internal investigations, and reviewing large-scale law enforcement events.
In her current capacity, Magula works with several city police departments and regularly interacts with both law enforcement personnel and community-based boards. Her responsibilities include advising on vehicle pursuits, crowd management, and critical incident responses.
Her professional accomplishments include leading a comprehensive evaluation of the Oxnard Police Department’s response to persons in crisis and helping draft model use of force policies for the State of Washington. She also consults with the United States and California Departments of Justice on police accountability systems and is dedicated to fostering positive community-police relations.
