Pasadena firefighters spent about two hours Saturday fighting flames that started in a tree and spread to the adjacent house.

The fire was reported about 2:15 p.m. Saturday at California Boulevard and Marengo Avenue, according to the Pasadena Fire Department.

The fire was “very stubborn,” Pasadena fire spokeswoman Lisa Derderian told City News Service.

Traffic in the area was heavy and impacted by street closures, Derderian said. That included a large concert at the Rose Bowl.

No injuries were reported, she said.

The cause of the fire was under investigation.
