Pasadena’s South Lake Avenue District will host its free and family-friendly Holidayfest on Dec. 7, Saturday, offering residents six hours of seasonal entertainment and District-wide shopping deals.
The event, presented by Logix Federal Credit Union, will run from noon to 6 p.m., transforming the retail corridor into a holiday destination with Santa’s Village at 401 South Lake Ave.
The South Lake Business Association said families can enjoy complimentary photos with Santa Claus and holiday characters while costumed favorites including Olaf, The Grinch, Frosty, Snoopy, and Mr. & Mrs. Mouse roam the District.
Additional characters entertaining visitors will include The Abominable Snowman, Reindeer, and Cat in the Hat, according to event organizers, who announced the lineup in a media alert.
Live musical performances will anchor the afternoon’s entertainment, featuring The Baby Goats at 1 p.m., Quitapenas at 3 p.m., and closing with Twisted Gypsy, a Fleetwood Mac tribute band with a twist.
DJ William Reed will provide additional music throughout the afternoon, while carolers and a barbershop quartet add to the festive atmosphere along South Lake Avenue.
The family-friendly celebration includes hands-on activities at winter workshops, where visitors can participate in cookie decorating and create holiday ornaments at dedicated craft stations.
Organizers will conduct raffles during the afternoon, with thousands of dollars in prizes available to participants as part of the Shop, Dine and Win promotion.
The event, featuring various in-store promotions throughout the District, will proceed rain or shine, with both free and paid parking available for attendees.
