A stolen vehicle was recovered and its driver arrested on weapons charges in Pasadena late last night, according to Pasadena Police Lieutenant Edgar Sanchez.
The incident occurred at 11:51 p.m. on Monday, November 20 at the intersection of Carlton Avenue and Lincoln Avenue.
Pasadena Patrol officers, responding to assist the Pasadena air unit, located the stolen vehicle and conducted a traffic stop, during which two occupants were detained.
The investigation revealed that the stolen vehicle also allegedly had stolen license plates from another similar vehicle affixed to it. A subsequent search of the vehicle, prior to its impound, led to the discovery of a stolen handgun inside of the passenger compartment, according to Sanchez.
The driver, identified as 30-year-old Jose Giron, was taken into custody for the stolen vehicle as well as weapons charges associated with the firearm. No details were given on the passenger and no description of the vehicle was available.
