Three armed suspects carjacked a sleeping victim early Saturday morning before abandoning the stolen vehicle minutes later in the same area where they took it, according to Pasadena Police Lieutenant Matt Campeau.
The carjacking occurred at 3:07 a.m. at Fair Oaks Avenue and Tremont Street when the victim was asleep in his blue 2019 Chevrolet Camaro, Campeau said.
The victim was awakened by a man breaking out the front passenger window of his vehicle.
When the victim sat up, he saw two additional suspects, and all three demanded he get out of the vehicle and leave the keys, according to Campeau. One suspect pointed a firearm at the victim, who then ran into a nearby business to call 911.
The suspects stole the victim’s vehicle but returned it to the same area “for unknown reasons” just minutes later, Campeau said. The victim was not injured during the incident.
All three suspects are described as Hispanic men between 20 and 30 years old wearing all black or dark clothing, according to Campeau. The suspects fled in what was described as a newer model Dodge Charger.
Officers responded immediately to the scene and are currently investigating the incident, Campeau said. The case will be transferred to detectives on Monday. The investigation is ongoing, and no arrests have been made, according to Campeau1.
