Armed Robbery Reported at Pasadena 7-Eleven

A 7-Eleven convenience store in Pasadena was robbed at gunpoint early Wednesday morning, according to Pasadena Police Lieutenant Edgar Sanchez.

The reported armed robbery occurred around 2:46 a.m. in the 600 block of North Lake Avenue. Pasadena officers responded to a call about an armed robbery at the 7-Eleven store upon arrival.

Police contacted two victims – a 31-year-old man and a 23-year-old man, both residents of Baldwin Park who were employees at the store, Sanchez said.

According to the investigation, the suspect entered the store and immediately pulled out a handgun from the front pocket of his hooded sweatshirt. He then pointed the gun at the 31-year-old victim and stated “take out the money,” throwing a plastic bag on the counter Sanchez said.

The 31-year-old victim then began filling the bag with money from the cash register when the suspect then pointed his firearm at the 23-year-old victim, who was in the back of the store according to Sanchez.

The suspect then reportedly instructed one of the victims to retrieve two drinks from the refrigerated beverage section, but was unsuccessful because the refrigerator was locked.

After getting the bag of money, estimated to be between $800-$900 in cash, the suspect fled the store on foot, Sanchez said.

Sanchez described the suspect as wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black sweatpants, black and white tennis shoes, and a black mask. No injuries were reported during the incident.

Detectives will likely review any available surveillance video footage from the store as the investigation continues to identify and locate the suspect.
