Mayor Victor Gordo has been appointed to the Burbank-Glendale-Pasadena Airport Authority.
The authority, which comprises commissioners from the three cities, owns and operates the Hollywood Burbank Airport and is a separate government agency created under a joint powers agreement between the cities of Burbank, Glendale, and Pasadena in 1977.
The City Council approved Gordo’s nomination last Monday during a special meeting.
According to its website, the mission of the Airport Authority is to provide state-of-the-art regional airport facilities and related services which are efficient, safe, convenient, and user-friendly, while being a good neighbor.
Currently, Councilmember Tyron Hampton and former District Councilmember Andy Wilson also serve on the Board.
Gordo will serve on the authority through May 31, 2025.
