Upgrade work to affect on- and off-ramps and some adjoining street lanes from June 10 to 14

The California Department of Transportation has announced scheduled partial or full closures of on- and off-ramps along eastbound and westbound Interstate 210 in Pasadena. The closures, which are subject to change, will take place from Monday, June 10 through Friday, June 14 between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.

According to Caltrans District 7, the affected ramps include those at Hill Avenue and Allen Avenue and may include Altadena Drive,  the Eastbound San Gabriel Boulevard on-ramp, and the Westbound Sierra Madre Boulevard/San Gabriel Boulevard. The agency encourages drivers to check for daily closure updates on their QuickMap website at https://quickmap.dot.ca.gov/.

The closures will facilitate the upgrading of curb ramps, installation of Accessible Pedestrian Signal systems and pedestrian countdown timers, and re-striping of crosswalks. Some adjoining street lanes will also be affected during the closure period.

Caltrans said that no two consecutive ramps will be closed simultaneously to minimize the impact on traffic flow. Motorists are advised to allow extra travel time, remain alert in work zones, and “Be Work Zone Alert.”

The scheduled work is part of ongoing efforts to improve accessibility and safety along the I-210 corridor.
