South Pasadena Police Report on Crime Last Week, February 11 to 17

The following covers South Pasadena reported crimes from February 11-17, 2015.

STOLEN VEHICLE

• 2-11-15, 9:13 AM, 700 block of Fair Oaks (AT&T). ’15 Audi A3. Suspects enter store and take victim’s car keys from behind the counter, then drive off with victim’s car. SUSPECTS DESCRIPTON: S1 – Female, White, 20 years, light yellow sweater over a black top and black pants. S2 – Female, White, 20 years, wearing dark sunglasses, black tank top, blue jeans, black boots carrying a backpack.

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY

• 2-12-15, 10:25 AM, 1800 block of Hill (attempt). Witness is inside home cleaning when suspects smash a rear window. Witness enters room and sees suspects attempting to remove window screen to broken window. Witness yells at suspects and suspects run away to a parked vehicle. LOSS: None. SUSPECT VEHICLE: Dark green SUV. SUSPECTS DESCRIPTION: S1 – Male, Hispanic, wearing a dark hooded sweater and sunglasses. S2 – Male, Black, wearing a dark hooded sweater and sunglasses.
• 2-5-15, 8:35 PM to 2-12-15, 8:00 AM, 2000 block of Meridian (storage locker). Suspect(s) pry open victim’s storage locker and takes loss. LOSS: Tools.

AUTO BURGLARY

• 2-14-15, 2:20 PM to 2-15-15, 9:30 AM, 1700 block of Ellincourt. ’11, Nissan Rogue. Suspect(s) gains entry by unknown means and takes loss. LOSS: Purse and portable GPS.• 2-12-15, 7:00 PM to 2-13-15, 6:30 AM, 1900 block of Via Del Rey. ’13 Honda Fit. Suspect(s) gain entry to victim’s vehicle through unknown means and take loss. LOSS: GPS Unit and cash.
• 2-12-15, 9:00 PM to 2-13-15, 6:45 AM, 700 block of Orange Grove. ’04 Honda Accord. Suspect(s) gain entry to victim’s vehicle through unknown means and take loss. LOSS: Saxophone and miscellaneous papers.
• 2-7-15, 8:00 PM to 2-7-15, 8:45 PM, 1600 block of Amberwood. ’04 Toyota Sienna. Suspect(s) gain entry to victim’s vehicle through unknown means and take loss. LOSS: Wallet, cash, credit cards.

THEFT

• 2-16-15, 8:05 PM, 1100 block of Fair Oaks (Vons). Suspect enters store and places loss inside a shopping bag. Employee sees suspect exiting store without paying for loss. Employee chases after and detains suspect. LOSS: Groceries (recovered). SUSPECT ARRESTED: Male, White, 34 years, South Pasadena.
• 2-16-15, 6:15 PM, 1200 block of Fair Oaks (Pavilions). Suspect enters store and employee sees suspect taking loss and exit store without paying. Employee chases after and detains suspect. LOSS: Salad (recovered). SUSPECT ARRESTED: Male, Hispanic, 56 years, transient.
• 2-15-15, 5:14 PM, 1100 block of Fair Oaks (Vons). Suspect enters store and employee sees suspect placing loss inside a backpack. Suspect then exits store without paying for loss. Employee chases after suspect and officers locate suspect in the parking lot. LOSS: Liquor (recovered). SUSPECT ARRESTED: Male, Juvenile.
• 2-14-15, 11:51 AM, 1100 block of Fair Oaks (South Pasadena Eye Care). Suspect enters store and tries on a pair of glasses. Employee sees suspect exiting store holding loss without paying for it. Officers arrive and locate suspect inside Vons. Officers escort suspect out of store where security sensors activate. Officers locate loss from Vons inside a bag suspect is holding. LOSS: Advil from Vons (recovered), sunglasses from Eye Care (recovered). SUSPECT ARRESTED: Male, Hispanic, 39 years, Arleta.
• 2-13-15, 12:00 AM to 12:38 PM, 1600 block of Indiana. Suspect(s) enters victim’s unlocked vehicle and take loss. LOSS: Tray and cash.
• 2-12-15, 10:00 PM to 2-13-15, 11:00 AM, 1600 block of Indiana. Suspect(s) enters victim’s unlocked vehicle and take loss. LOSS: Emergency kit. • 2-12-15, 9:29 PM to 2-13-15, 9:20 AM. 1900 block of Via del Rey. Suspect(s) enters victim’s unlocked vehicle and take loss. LOSS: Women’s fragrance bottle, sunglasses and cash.
• 2-12-15, 10:30 PM to 2-13-15, 8:45 AM, 1800 block of Via Del Rey. Suspect(s) enters victim’s unlocked vehicle and take loss. LOSS: Sunglasses and cash.
• 2-11-15, 8:53 PM, 1700 block of Garfield (Ralphs). Suspect enters store and witness (customer) sees suspect taking loss and exiting without paying for loss. LOSS: Alcohol. SUSPECT DESCRIPTION: Male, Hispanic, 20 years, heavy set, wearing a black baseball cap, black shirt, gray shorts, knee-length block socks, and dark rimmed glasses.
• 2-6-15, 8:00 AM to 7:20 PM, 900 block of Meridian. Suspect takes loss while victim is away. LOSS: Bicycle wheel.
• 1-8-15, 11:30 PM to 1-9-15, 10:00 AM, 800 block of Orange Grove. Suspect(s) cut victim’s cable lock and take loss. LOSS: Bicycle.

DRUNK IN PUBLIC

2-11-15, 1:22 AM, 2800 block of Alhambra. Officers respond to a subject causing a disturbance. Officers locate suspect who is found to be intoxicated and unable to care for himself. SUSPECT ARRESTED: Male, 19 years, Alhambra.

TRESPASSING/PROWLING

2-16-15, 3:49 AM, 1600 block of Amberwood. Witness sees suspect walking around parking lot checking the door handles to see if any vehicles were unlocked. Suspect walks away as witness calls police. Officers arrive but are unable to locate suspect.

IDENTITY THEFT/CREDIT CARD FRAUD/CHECK FRAUD
• 1-12-15 to 2-17-15, 2000 block of Mission. Suspect(s) uses victim’s personal information to open a cell phone account.
• 2-11-15, 10:30 AM to 10:40 AM, 400 block of Mission. Suspect(s) uses victim’s personal information to apply for a loan.
